L’oiseau qui n’a qu’une aile
J’ai cueilli ce brin de bruyère
L’automne est morte souviens-t’en
Nous ne nous verrons plus sur terre
Odeur du temps brin de bruyère
Et souviens-toi que je t’attends.
Il y a un poème à faire sur l’oiseau qui n’a qu’une aile.
(Guillaume Apollinaire)

Hello Neil,
I did my best to make a translation for you, though I usually translate from English to French. Here it is:
I picked a maiden of heath
Fall is no more alive remember
We won’t see in the land
The smell of time or a maiden of heath
But remember I am still waiting for you.
A poem needs to be written about the bird that has only one wing.
